Plains Montana Wedding Videographer
Why Choose Plains for Your Montana Wedding?
I've filmed weddings throughout Sanders County and understand what makes Plains unique. The privacy is unmatched, the natural light across open terrain is stunning, and the genuine western character creates wedding films that feel honest and grounded rather than staged or produced. From capturing emotional ranch ceremonies to sunset portraits with the Clark Fork River valley stretching out behind you, I document Plains weddings with an appreciation for the peaceful beauty and authentic Montana spirit this area represents. Your wedding film will feel real, timeless, and deeply connected to the landscape!

Common Questions About Plains Wedding Videography..
How much does a Plains wedding videographer cost?
My packages start at $3,400 and most Plains couples invest between $3,400-$4,600 for full cinematic coverage. Every package includes drone footage, so aerial coverage over the Sanders County landscape is just part of how I film, not an add-on. Pricing scales based on hours of coverage, and optional extras like raw footage, rehearsal dinner filming, or a day-after session can be added from there. Plains weddings have a character all their own and I'm always happy to talk through what package fits your celebration.
Do you film weddings at Rocky Point Ranch in Plains?
Yes, and Rocky Point Ranch is a beautiful place to film. The property has a genuine Montana character that shows up naturally on camera, and the surrounding landscape gives every shot a sense of place that's hard to replicate anywhere else. I know the venue well and love working with couples who choose it. If you're getting married at Rocky Point Ranch, drone coverage over that property is absolutely worth having.
How far in advance should I book a Plains wedding videographer?
Plains has one dedicated wedding venue and a limited number of peak season dates, which means summer weekends fill up faster than you might expect. I recommend reaching out 4-8 months in advance to make sure your date is available. If you're planning something in the shoulder season or on a weekday there's more flexibility, but the safest move is always to reach out as soon as your venue is confirmed.
Do you film elopements along the Clark Fork River?
Absolutely, and the Clark Fork River corridor is one of the most underrated elopement settings in all of Western Montana. The river, the canyon walls, the Cabinet Mountains in the distance... it's stunning in a way that feels completely unspoiled. I've filmed along the Clark Fork and know how to find the light and the locations that make this stretch of Montana look its absolute best. Coverage typically runs 2-5 hours and is built entirely around your vision and the spots that speak to you.
Do you use a drone for Plains and Sanders County weddings?
Yes, and drone coverage is included in every package, not an add-on. Sanders County from the air is breathtaking in a way most people never get to see. The Clark Fork winding through the valley, the Cabinet Mountains, the open ranchland stretching out in every direction... aerial footage here gives your wedding film a sense of scale and place that ground footage alone can't touch. I'm a licensed commercial drone operator and weave aerial shots into the story naturally. For most Plains and Sanders County weddings the drone is going up.
Do you charge travel fees for Plains weddings?
No travel fees for Plains and Sanders County weddings. I'm based here, this is home, and I'm not going to charge you to drive down the road. If your celebration extends into a neighboring county just ask and I'll give you a straight answer, but for Plains and the surrounding Sanders County area you won't see a travel fee on your invoice.
How soon after the wedding do we get our film?
One week after your wedding, your teaser is ready. Most films are finished in about two to three weeks, and I genuinely enjoy getting them back to couples that quickly. Your contract allows up to two to three months, which is there for the end of the season when the weddings pile up and editing slows down. Raw footage is delivered once editing is finished. I will keep you posted the whole way through, no chasing required.
Can we adjust the packages to fit our day?
Absolutely. Coverage hours, raw footage, a rehearsal dinner film, a day-after session along the river: every package bends to fit your actual day, with drone coverage already included. Plains weddings tend to be personal and unpretentious, and your package should be too. Tell me what matters most and we'll build around it.
Do you film weddings in Thompson Falls, Hot Springs, or St. Regis?
Yes to all three, and gladly! Thompson Falls, Hot Springs, and Paradise are all Sanders County, so the no-travel-fee promise covers them just like Plains. St. Regis, Superior, and Alberton sit one county over in Mineral County, close enough that travel stays minimal; reach out with your venue and I'll give you an exact number up front. Small-town Montana weddings deserve coverage from someone who actually lives here.
Do you film weddings outside of Plains and Sanders County?
Yes! Plains is home for me, but I film weddings and elopements across Western Montana. If you're also considering venues near Polson or anywhere else in the state, I'd love to help. Check out my full service area on the homepage to see everywhere I work, and reach out with your date and location. Chances are good I can be there!
